  • Letters of support, e.g. from potential users or organizations interested in the outcomes of the project, are not required or expected for project proposals.

Letters of commitment confirming that an organization external to the project team will make available resources, e.g. staff time, lab space, data, that would materially affect the outcomes and impact of the project are expected where relevant. To minimize administrative burden, these letters will be requested at the panel review or award stage from projects which have advanced successfully to that point.

  • Please include additional references in the "Comparative Capability Assessment" sub-section, the last sub-section of the "Proposed Innovation" section.

  • There is a form section under 'Proposed Innovations' where you may upload figures and diagrams. If necessary, you may include links to externally hosted figures and diagrams inline in the proposal text.

  • There are no formal requirements for CV format. We prefer short form, i.e. 2-5 page CVs.

  • There is no requirement or expectation that projects include a partner from the STL region, nor that they focus their case study in the STL region. All project proposals must explain how they'll help advance TGI's mission, which includes growing St Louis as a hub of geospatial expertise. We are looking for creative approaches from project teams - ideas for knowledge exchange, capacity building, virtual activities, twinning, etc - from both in-region and externally based teams. TGI's view is that increased connectivity with a global network of experts and partners strengthens St. Louis as a hub of geospatial expertise. We want to see how projects intend to build that connective tissue.

  • We are expecting project proposals of 10 pages or less.

The intended 10 page or less length includes the following sections:

    • Abstract,
    • Description of Proposed Innovation,
    • Advancement of Geospatial Science,
    • Applicability to the Problem Statement,
    • Comparative Capability Assessment,
    • TRL Assessment,
    • Application readiness and Context,
    • Alignment with TGI Mission,
    • Beneficiaries,
    • Impact Goals,
    • Adoptability,
    • Team expertise and capacities

But does not include the following sections:

    • Support requests,
    • Other funding sources,
    • Other sources of support,
    • Research management plan,
    • Facilities and Equipment,
    • Quad Chart,
    • Cost schedule
    • Deliverables
    • PI, co-PI and key staff CVs
  • Please provide the total combined cost for each item and label it with the relevant budget category. You should include any additional details you believe would be relevant for reviewers to consider, including splits between prime and sub-awards where costs for an item are split, in the 'justification' column for each line item.

  • The submission deadline is 12 midnight (Central time) on 31 October 2025.
